This is a live, outdoor painting class, held on July 15, 16, 17, 2025 from 10 am - 2pm. Meet at Mount Ashland Ski Area Parking at 9:45 am and carpool/caravan to the painting location.

The weather in July is usually great at Mount Ashland, however, in case of high winds or a lot of rain, an alternate location or date will be determined.

Bring your own materials, water, sunscreen and hat. Dress properly for the weather. Bathrooms will be nearby, and in some cases will be a short drive away from our painting location. There will be no running water at any of our painting locations.

Sarah F Burns LLC is not responsible for student injury or illness.

In case you cannot attend the workshop, partial refunds are offered within a week of class start. If for some reason the class must be canceled by the instructor, full refunds will be given.

Plein air painting in a beautiful place is one of the greatest joys! Join me and your fellow artists to explore color, light and form in one of the richest and most diverse areas in Southern Oregon.

Meet at the Mount Ashland Ski Area parking lot at 9:45 am to caravan to the painting location. Each day we will paint at a slightly different spot on Mount Ashland.

Class Format:

Friday, July 11 at 11 am via live zoom, learn strategies for successful plein air painting and sketching. Get your questions answered.
On painting days, watch a short painting demo where we discuss strategies for composition, atmospheric perspective, color and more.
Choose your spot and create artwork.
Get 1-1 coaching each day. Ask questions, get personalized demos.

Bring your own materials.
If you need to borrow an easel, let me know - I have a few extras.
